Inaugural Firstline Graduation Event

Every week since February 10, we have met Sunday evenings on the Ranch. We enjoyed dinner together, caught up on the events of the week, and opened ourselves to discover pathways to healing emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually from traumatic wounds. Our participants jumped in with both feet wading through these waters of pain and challenges to overcome. And they have begun this journey that we pray will forever impact their lives, the lives of their families, their careers, and will inspire those around them to seek help earnestly.

We are so proud to announce we are celebrating our amazing participants with a graduation ceremony and celebration on Sunday May 5. We will honor their commitment to themselves and their families, celebrate the steps they have taken, and challenge them to continue this path. If you would like to join us, please let us know you’re coming. Details are below.

Firstline Course starting February 10th

When Wellsprings began almost four years ago now, we were searching for ways we could truly help the community of First Responders to find rest and healing. While we have focused on a couple of avenues to complete this mission, we recently learned of a trauma recovery course called Firstline.

Firstline is a course created by First Responders for First Responders and their families. This course focuses on helping First Responders heal from spiritual and moral wounds from trauma. Critical incident trauma directly impacts the mind, body, spirit and soul of a First Responder. The Firstline course is not a support group but instead a network of First Responders who can provide practical insight and help in recovering from trauma. A 12 week course, Firstline is a First Responder led discussion that digs deeper into specific topics related to critical incident trauma. We encourage all First Responders, law enforcement - fire fighter - EMS - dispatch - corrections, to attend this course for yourself or for those in your department who may be struggling.

We are kicking off our first group meeting February 10 and will continue to meet for 12 weeks, every Sunday, from 5-7pm. Our evenings will include dinner and childcare - all free of charge for the First Responder and his/her family. You can register online now at www.firstlineresponders.com. Find our Firstline Course in Waring, Texas and register today.

Not a First Responder and wondering how you can help?
- Pray for our leadership team and all the Firstline attendees
- Donate to help us with the cost of meals and childcare
- Volunteer to cook and /or serve dinner or provide childcare for one or more Sundays during this course

2018 Was Quite a Year...

WOW! Another year has come and gone and we are welcoming this new year with great intention. 2018 started with the purchase of Wild Arrow Ranch in February. We quickly began renovations and preparations for our family to move onto the Ranch and even had a fun open house where our friends and family got in on some demolition. We officially started ranch life March 1, 2018 and we haven’t looked back.

In late fall we opened two Glamping Cabins for reservations. One has a queen bed and the other has four twin beds….perfect for a family or a few friends to spend a lovely night or two on the Ranch. Each reservation made by the public allows us to offer these cabins to the First Responder community at a great discounted rate.

In December, we completely demolished one of the larger bunkhouses down to the foundation. We are currently working on rebuilding the structure into a warm and welcoming two bedroom, one bath cabin complete with a lovely porch to sit and enjoy our beautiful hill country sunsets on. This new cabin should be open for reservations by Spring 2019.

Beyond the Bed & Breakfast, we are planning some fun weekends on the Ranch for First Responders to include music events, pool parties, river fun and so much more. Wild Arrow Ranch hosts monthly Music on the Ranch events open to everyone. This is a great way to relax and enjoy listening to great area bands.

Wellsprings is also now home to Firstline. This is the heart of why we started Wellsprings. Firstline is a faith-based stress and trauma healing journey is designed to address the spiritual and moral toll that critical incidents take on those within the  law enforcement,  firefighter and  EMS communities. Together, we can see families heal, divorce rates drop, substance abuse decrease and suicide numbers reduced. The Firstline course, led by First Responders, will run as two semesters each year - spring and fall. During the semesters we will provide a meal for the First Responder and their families, childcare, and small group style community. We are thrilled to offer this great new resource to help the First Responder community.

First Responders, we invite you to come see us on the Ranch. We can’t wait serve you and your families. We will be releasing details on the upcoming Firstline course and when you can register to join.

All of our friends, family and followers - thank you for your donations, encouragement, support and help in 2018. We could not carry out this mission without your prayers and support. With so much on the horizon, we covet that support more than ever. Each Firstline course comes with a cost. Each cabin renovation comes with a cost. If you would like to make a donation please do so today. All donations are tax-deductible and will 100% go towards serving the First Responder community at Wellsprings.

Connect with us on social media to keep up with all we have going on. And when you are in the area, stop in and see us. Join us at our Music Events the 3rd Sunday evening of every month. And when the warm Texas air makes its way back, come have a swim in the pool. Make a reservation to stay with us and we will take great care of you!

So here’s to 2018 and all the change it brought our way. And here’s to 2019 and the amazing things we are reaching toward to serve those who serve.

Come see us!

Now Open for Bookings!

We are thrilled to finally be able to open for bookings. Two of our first four cabins are ready to welcome First Responders for a fun, relaxing Hill Country getaway. The ranch website (www.wildarrowranch.com) will go live tomorrow, but we wanted to give you access a day early. If you click on the button the Wellsprings homepage that says First Responders Click Here, you will get all the details on how to book your stay with us (First Responders get a special Promo Code). This is the best time of year to enjoy our open air cabins with great weather and peaceful mornings. We will feed you breakfast each day of your stay and end the days with a campfire complete with S’mores! Don’t wait. Visit the site today and pick your days. Two more cabins will open up later in the month so in all we will be able to accommodate up to 20 people on a given day.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to the Ranch.

Renovations Happening Now....opening this summer!

Hello friends!
What a start to 2018!  This first quarter has brought so much change to our family and to Wellsprings.  Early February, we closed on our 45 acre Ranch (named Wild Arrow Ranch) in Waring, Texas just northwest of San Antonio.  On February 28, we loaded up moving trucks and made the move onto our beautiful new hill country ranch and have begun renovations.  These past four weeks we have worked to renovate the home where our family will reside (named the Front House).  We gutted the two bathrooms and completely renovated the kitchen while we were living in the Front House.  With that wrapping up now it is time to move on to our next big renovation...the Bunkies!
The Bunkies are two long cabins that will be transformed into four individual cabins that will be able to accommodate individuals, a couple or a family of 6.  Each have private bathrooms and sitting areas and one with a lovely stone fireplace.  We have been dreaming up design plans and will begin demo in the next few weeks.  The Bunkies will be our first housing option for you to come and enjoy time at the Ranch.
While we are renovating The Bunkies, we will also be working on other projects around the Ranch.  Many buildings will need to be repainted inside and out, a few of the onsite bathrooms will need a little remodeling and the overall grounds will get freshened up and cleaned.
We have already begun the process of cleaning up and repainting the pool as well as clearing brush from the access points to the Guadalupe River.  Toobing and canoeing the river or splashing in the pool will be great options to beat the Texas Heat this summer!  We plan on keeping some of the open-air cabins available for those who want a little more adventure.  A "Glamping" option can be chosen over staying in The Bunkies if you would like to enjoy more of a camping experience while sleeping indoors on a twin bed.  Bathrooms for these cabins are in a separate building.
The Lodge is getting a little makeover as well.  This will be where our guests will dine and it even has a place to hold meetings or family gatherings.  The Wild Arrow Ranch office is housed in the Lodge as well.  So when you stay with us, we will be available for you anytime.
We are so thrilled that this adventure is moving forward. We cannot say thank you enough to all of the wonderful family and friends who have called, written, sent donations, and even done a little work on the Ranch with us.  You are a part of this dream becoming a reality.  Without the support of you all, we would not be progressing so quickly and efficiently.
In the coming weeks we will share more about this beautiful property and the areas we know the First Responder families will enjoy will seeking rest and respite.  Our hope and prayer is that you will feel peace as you step onto the Ranch.

We are launching Wellsprings!

Hello friends,

Wellsprings in under contract to purchase a beautiful 46 acre property located in the Texas Hill Country.  We are thrilled to soon welcome our very first overnight guests.  It will take some good old fashioned hard work but we know the benefit of bringing in First Responders to the ranch for rest is worth every bit!

We are running a fundraising campaign right now to help us with the launch.  Any amount is sincerely appreciated.  Share with your friends too!  Let's spread the word that Wellsprings is here to help our First Responders!

A quick request....

Hello Friends of Wellsprings!

2017 is moving quickly and we are gearing up for some really big things here at Wellsprings.  The remainder of this year will involve the purchase of property, construction of cabins, and so much more.

But first, we need a little something from you. We are asking first responders (current or retired) to take a brief, anonymous four question survey to help us as we progress towards our grand opening.

Please feel free to forward this email to other first responders.  You will also be able to share it via social media from our Facebook page.

Thank you for taking a few moments to help us narrow our focus on what matters most in the lives of first responders.
